To friend or not to friend
It was unfortunate to hear that a friend passed away a couple of weeks ago.
When I heard the news I was sad and started thinking “he’s gone and I’ve never built a relationship with him”.
My conscience was right, I considered him a friend but I never had time to visit him nor drink a cup of coffee with him.
We take for granted the time we have in our hands and the “friends” we have in our lives.
You may be a busy person, I am too, but I don’t think you are ALWAYS busy. We have to find time for friends.
I was debating with my mind “well there is Facebook I have most of my friends on FB so I guess we keep in touch that way.”
No! Absolutely wrong! Not everyone is on FB.
Not everyone is computer knowledgeable, and not all your friends have computers.
Anyways, nothing can replace the unique communication with a friend.
Nothing can replace the long conversations over the phone.
Nothing can replace going to dinner/lunch or to a coffee shop with a friend.
I believe people are in our lives for a reason. I also believe that friendship is a gift, and we should take care of that gift.
A friend is not just an acquaintance, a friend is God, is your husband, your family members.
If they don’t take the first step on building a relationship, why don’t you do it?
Love,
Carmen
